Laghidze: Reviving a Legacy of Taste and Tradition

Laghidze Waters is more than just a drink. It is a symbol of Georgia’s rich and turbulent history. Dating back to the 19th century, Laghidze Waters is a taste of nostalgia for many generations who grew up with the unique flavors of lemon, tarragon, pear, and more. They are a tribute to the founder, Mitrofan Laghidze, and his mother, whose portrait adorns the label of every bottle.

Laghidze Waters has also faced many challenges and changes over the years. The golden age of the drink was cut short by the Soviet occupation, which erased its original character and emotion. The original presence of the drink declined, and the portrait of Mitrofan’s mother was lost.

Now, with the initiative of the Laghidze family and the collaboration of professional designers & artists, the historical mission of restoring the ancient life to the waters of Laghidze is underway. The project started with the painstaking reconstruction of the portrait of Mitrofane’s mother, based on hundreds of sketches and historical references. The portrait was then modernized and integrated into a new label design, along with a unique signature style and typography that reflect the elegance of the past and the demands of the present.

The project aims to revive the legacy of Lagidze waters, not only as a drink, but as a cultural and national treasure. It is a reminder that there is a heritage that time cannot defeat, and a taste that can bring joy to generations to come.
